June 25, 2008 The experience is everything -- for customers and executives
Presented by: Jim Nieters Yahoo! Inc.
Abstract
Why is it that as experts in software process, we see so many organizations not
following best practices? In this talk, Jim Nieters will illustrate how for the
customer, the experience is everything, and how executives are seeking that
next big experience that promotes growth. Our goal then is to understand what
the most important experience is for customers. Is it having products that
solve a currently unmet business need? Is it simplifying these experiences? Is
it solving an unmet social need? In this talk, we will discuss the metrics to
which executives are held accountable, how these drive their thinking, and how
we as process improvement experts can change our style of argument to really
get and stay on the executive priority list.
