Abstract

United Defense, LP is a world-class manufacturer of ground combat vehicles. The company has produced more than 100,000 combat vehicles for the US Army and Marines. Ground Systems Division's (GSD) signature products, such as the M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M88A2 HERCULES Improved Recovery Vehicle, and next-generation systems like the Army's Future Combat System, are developed based on years of advanced research and development experience.

To be a world-class systems integrator UDLP GSD has invested significantly in its process capabilities. GSD has evolved from a .metal bender. to the elite group of US companies with SEI CMM/CMMI Level 5 capability for software. This presentation, by Dao Vu, Manager of the Process and Product Quality Management, will describe the experience UDLP GSD has been through and how GSD moves from a .mud sucking Level 1. to CMM/CMMI Level 5.
