Testing Large Web Applications

Abstract
With the Web and e-commerce revolution, the bulk of the software
being developed is connected one way or the other with the Web.
Short development life cycles, hundreds of thousands of users, need
for universality, demand for reliable performance, and the need
for security pose lot of challenges in Web application development.
RelQ's experience in testing large Web applications will be shared
by Dr.Prakash Mutalik.

Bangalore in December 1999.] About the speaker
Dr. Mutalik is a co-founder of RelQ Software a company specialized
in Independent Validation & Verification. He has
over 25 years of experience in the software industry in India and
USA and has served as the General Manager in Hewlett Packard's Software
Operations and as Engineering Controller in Wipro Systems Limited.
Dr. Mutalik has been a Quality consultant since 1992 to several
reputed software companies such as Verifone, Honeywell, and Cadence,
helping them in building Quality Management Systems to meet ISO
9000 standards. Twelve of his clients have been successfully certified
for ISO 9001. He has conducted several corporate and public
workshops in Software Engineering topics.
His consulting services include assessing the Quality Management
System (QMS) against ISO 9001, SEI / CMM, help in developing QMS,
training the staff, training internal auditors, and conducting audits.
He has helped several of his clients to build test processes to
deliver high quality software to their client and has conducted
corporate and public training on Software Engineering topics such
as Project Management, Software Estimation, Software Testing, Reviews,
and Configuration Management.
Dr. Mutalik has worked for many years in developing software-engineering
methodologies and was responsible for setting up and running software
quality assurance departments. Through successful assignments and
experience, he has developed specific technologies in the Quality
Assurance area to help his clients develop better Quality software.
